Friendship
Many organizations offer ideas and resources to support our military troops. And WhatFriendsDo.com applauds those and wants to join in the ongoing care for our service people.
Support the family!
The family members of our troops need a great deal of support while their loved one is serving his or her country. A WhatFriendsDo team can be set up to support the military person, or his or her family, or both!
The deployed person will be so glad to know friends are rallying around his or her spouse, children and parents to help with daily tasks like lawncare, small home repairs and general cheer. Be sure to check the What Friends Do for Cheer section to find creative ideas for providing cheer.

WhatFriendsDo always encourages being proactive in helping friends in need and not waiting for the friends to ask for help. If your military family could use some help with little odds and ends around the house, make a phone call, let them know you are coming on a particular day and time and ask that they make a list of all the little things that need to be done. Offer suggestions, such as changing a furnace filter, changing ceiling lightbulbs, cleaning ceiling light fixtures, making a trip to the attic, touching up paint, etc. Or maybemending clothing, painting a room, helping kids with homework would be helpful to your friend.
Special Days!

Remembering special days for the family will be great. Plan a birthday celebration or find a creative way to help a couple celebrate their wedding anniversary even though they are not able to be together because of military service.
Phone cards are wonderful gifts for military families. The luxury of making an international phone call will be fun for everyone.
